About Ravindu Denawaka (ZitizonX)

First of all thanks for stopping by Computer Network & Security Note Book. My name is ZitizonX, well that’s my net name. My real name is Ravindu Denawaka. I grew up in Sri Lanka and completed my primary and secondary studies at D. S. Senanayake College in Colombo.

Since I got my 1st computer (in 2001) I always eager to learn something new, something that other people don’t know about. When my friends play computer games, I tried to read online tutorials how to write a programme in “C” language or how to install Linux in my computer and how to hack in to a windows box using “SAM” file, etc… My interest on computers became more and more when I start hearing and learning things about computer forensics and security. I said to myself that I want to come a security specialist in future. So I planned my future in many ways to achieve my career goals.

When I was in high school I decided to learn programming (C and C++), networking (Cisco), Windows 2000 server and Linux systems. I was the youngest to attend on RHCE and CCNA training program in Sri Lanka. Those early studies in I.T helped me a lot when I was doing my Bachelor Degree at Monash University in Melbourne (Australia). I managed to finished the 3 years Bachelor degree in just two years with an overall average of 76. I was selected as top 15% students at Monash University in the year 2006 and being offered as a member of Golden Key Honors society.

I graduated at Monash [Bachelor of Network Computing ] in 2007. I started working as a Web Developer/Programmer role at ExactTarget(global leaders in Email Marketing) as my first job in my life. ExactTarget is an US based company and do Sa-aS email marketing. I worked there for 1 year and gain solid experience and clear understanding about Email marketing, Software as a Service, web content management system and Customer Relationship Management Systems such as SalesForce.com and Microsoft Dynamics.

Then I moved on to a company called Enterprise Support and where I was outsourced to a leading bank in Australia called Members Equity Bank. I was working at Members Equity as a Network, Systems, Applications Support specialist and then moved to Network and System Engineer position at Enterprise Support.

I want to be a System, Storage, Network and Security Expert – Architect.

Alright who is that? A person with an understanding in Infrastructure in-and-out. Well I believe to become that level you need to have lots of discipline, human network, sound education and quality experience behind your career.

To reach there I believe I would require to do the following.

· General Degree in IT

· Masters Degree in Business and Information Technology Management

· Knowledge of Cisco Certified Network Professional(CCNP) or expert level CCIE (Routing/Switching/Security)

· Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer – MCSE or relevant

· Linux or Unix flavor understanding – RHCT or Solaris Certification
